How to make an invoice
Quick answer: To make an invoice, add your details, add the client, list the work, add payment details and download the PDF.
- Add your details. Your business name, address and contact details, plus your logo if you have one. They're saved in your browser, so next time they're already there.
- Add the client. Who you're billing and their address. The invoice number and dates are filled in for you.
- List the work. One line per item or service with a quantity and price. Totals, discount and tax update as you type.
- Add payment details. Bank details, IBAN or payment link, and any notes such as payment terms.
- Download the PDF. Send it by email or print it. Press New invoice for the next one: the number goes up by one.
What should an invoice include?
A unique invoice number, the issue and due dates, your and your client's names and addresses, a clear list of what you did with prices, the total with any tax shown separately, and how to pay. Many countries also require your tax or VAT number when you charge tax.
Getting paid faster
Send the invoice as soon as the work is done, set a clear due date (14 or 30 days is common), and put the payment details right on the invoice so the client doesn't have to ask. A short thank-you note helps too.
Is it really free?
Yes: no account, no watermark and no limit. The invoice is made on your device, so your client list and prices stay private.
