To convert a PDF to JPG, open PDF to JPG, drop your PDF in, and wait for the page thumbnails. All pages are selected at first; click pages to deselect them, choose a resolution (150 DPI is a good default) and press Download. One page downloads as a JPG; several come as a zip. The PDF never leaves your device.
Why turn PDF pages into images?
- Social media and messaging: Instagram, WhatsApp statuses and many chat apps don't show PDFs nicely, but they show images.
- Presentations and documents: paste a page as a picture into PowerPoint, Word or Google Slides.
- Websites: show a preview of a brochure, menu or certificate.
- Forms: some portals ask for a JPG of a certificate you only have as a PDF.
- Thumbnails: create cover images for e-books and reports.
How do I convert PDF to JPG step by step?
- Open PDF to JPG.
- Drag your PDF onto the box, or click to choose it. Thumbnails of every page appear.
- All pages start selected. Click a thumbnail to deselect or reselect it. Shift-click selects a range, and Select all / Select none change everything at once.
- Choose the resolution: 72 DPI (screen), 150 DPI (recommended) or 300 DPI (print).
- Press Download JPG (one page) or Download … JPGs (.zip) (several pages).
Pages are rendered one at a time, so long PDFs work without freezing the browser.
Which resolution should I pick?
| DPI | A4 page becomes | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 72 | about 595 × 842 px | Previews, thumbnails, quick sharing |
| 150 | about 1240 × 1754 px | Screens, email, social media, slides |
| 300 | about 2480 × 3508 px | Printing, reading small text, archives |
Higher DPI means sharper images and larger files. If a JPG comes out too big for a form, compress it afterwards with Compress to Exact KB.
How do I convert a password-protected PDF?
If the PDF needs a password to open, the tool asks for it. Type it and press Unlock. The password is only used inside your browser to read the file. PDFs with restrictions but no open password usually open without asking.
Tips for the best results
- For text-heavy pages you want to read on a phone, choose 150 or 300 DPI so small print stays sharp.
- For social media, 150 DPI is plenty; then resize with Resize for Instagram if needed.
- Want the text instead of a picture of it? Use PDF to Word, which gives you editable text. See how to convert PDF to Word.
- Need it the other way round? Image to PDF turns JPGs back into a PDF.
Troubleshooting
- The page looks blank or text is missing: some PDFs use unusual fonts. The tool loads standard font data automatically; if text still looks wrong, try a different DPI or re-save the PDF from its original app.
- Export failed: very large pages at 300 DPI use a lot of memory, especially on phones. Try 150 DPI or select fewer pages at once.
- Huge zip file: lower the DPI, or download only the pages you need.
Is it private?
Yes. Many converters upload your PDF to their servers. This one uses pdf.js inside your browser to draw each page, so bank statements, contracts and certificates stay on your device.
Convert your pages with PDF to JPG. To combine several PDFs first, use Merge PDF.
